HerGol is operated by Samuel Avery-Castillo. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the HerGol mobile app, visit our website, or contact us.

Information stored in the app

HerGol does not require you to create an account.

The app stores followed teams and cached soccer information on your device. This helps remember your preferences and load previously viewed information more quickly. HerGol does not upload your followed-team list to an account server.

The current app does not include advertising or third-party behavioral analytics tools and does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or precise location.

Connections to outside services

HerGol connects to external services to retrieve scores, schedules, rankings, and images. These include the NCAA data service hosted at ncaa-api.henrygd.me and athletics websites and image-hosting providers.

When your device connects to these services, they receive your IP address and the technical information needed to respond to the request. They may maintain server logs under their own privacy practices. Requests for particular games, teams, or images also identify the content being requested.

Support and communications

If you email info@hergol.app, we receive your email address and any information you provide, including your name, message, screenshots, and device details.

We use this information to respond to you, investigate reported problems, and improve HerGol. Please avoid including passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Website information and cookies

Our website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and pages visited to operate, secure, and analyze the website.

Cookies and similar technologies may be used for necessary website functions and, depending on the website settings and your choices, analytics. You can manage cookies through your browser and any cookie controls provided on the website.

TestFlight testing

If you use HerGol through TestFlight, Apple processes information related to beta testing and may share crash reports, usage information, and feedback with us. We use information made available to us to investigate issues and improve the app.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Information may be processed by providers that help deliver the app, website, and email support. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users, security, or legal rights.

Retention and deletion

Followed teams and cached information remain on your device until removed or replaced. You can unfollow teams within the app. Deleting the app removes its local data; device backups may retain copies according to your backup settings.

We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to address your request, maintain relevant support records, or meet legal obligations.

To request deletion of information you have sent us, email info@hergol.app. Information held independently by Apple, Squarespace, or other providers is subject to their retention and deletion practices.

Your choices

You may choose not to provide information through email, manage your followed teams in the app, and manage website cookies through the available controls.

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Children’s privacy

HerGol is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through support communications. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information we handle. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as HerGol develops. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
